The fourth wave of the epidemic continues, and the government has recently closed the area in a "raid" manner, requiring all residents in the area to undergo mandatory testing.

The Yau Tsim Mong District Council vice chairman, Yu Debao, believes that the closure of the district is costly to the people and money, and it has also failed to cut the chain of transmission.

He emphasized that so far about 12,000 citizens have undergone compulsory testing in the closed area, but only 14 confirmed cases have failed to convince the public that the closed area test is effective.

Li Yuxin, a member of the Eastern District of the Civic Party, said that the government’s approach was hasty and arbitrary. He claimed that the residents of the closed buildings had been required to undergo compulsory testing earlier, and questioned the rationale for compulsory testing again.

Li Yuxin emphasized that compulsory testing in closed areas is unnecessary and out of proportion. It not only affects the public, but also causes economic losses to businesses.

Huang Jianjing said that he had inquired with the Home Affairs Department, but the other party only stated that the public money should be used appropriately, and there was no positive response to whether the remaining six projects would be released.

Huang Jianjing, chairman of the Finance Committee of the Central and Western District Council and the Civic Party, pointed out that the Central and Western District Council approved eight community research projects last year, but on November 5 last year, the Home Affairs Department notified that all projects were selected, except for "Research and Conservation of 30 Community "And "Government Hill Phase I Research Project" were released, but the remaining six received no news.

Huang Jianjing said that he had inquired with the Home Affairs Department, but the other party only stated that the public money should be used appropriately, and there was no positive response to whether the remaining six projects would be released.

Yau Tsim Mong District Councillor Lin Siu-bin earlier cited the "Code of Access to Information" to require the government to clarify the whereabouts of 17 million masks. The government replied yesterday that a total of about 4.48 million people’s associations, associations of associations and other organizations have been issued, and a total of rural committees have been issued. There were 2.79 million masks, of which only 5 district councilors were issued masks. The total number was less than 1.23 million.

Yu Debao questioned the standards for the distribution of masks by the Home Affairs Department, and believed that the government's public money was given to people privately.

As far as he understands, the Wong Tai Sin District Council has not been distributed any masks. I hope that the Civil Affairs Commissioners of the District Councillors will explain this clearly.

Yu Debao also said that the joint meeting of the 18 District Councils will follow up the incident later and urge the government to clarify the distribution criteria.
