The Education and Scientific Research Committee in the People's Assembly discussed during its meeting today a number of issues related to the work of the Ministry of Education and its affiliated bodies.
During the meeting, the chairman and members of the committee asked to develop a map to localize education, improve the reality of vocational education, and work on the participation of vocational education students in the production and investment process, adjust the premiums for private education, review the nature of work for administrators, determine the conditions for converting the teacher into an administrative work, and implement the decision to grant one million Syrian pounds to all schools in the governorates.
The committee called for a solution to the school book problem and the possibility of having a comprehensive book for each month to reduce the burden on students, reduce the process of rotating the textbook in the first cycle, and reduce the lessons assigned to the specialist counselor.
In his response to the committee’s demands, the Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa emphasized the ministry’s endeavor to improve the health services provided to teachers and reconsider the educational map in general, pointing to the completion of the spending of one million Syrian pounds for all schools as soon as possible. Minister Tabaa emphasized the ministry's endeavor to develop a special project to change the vocational education system and to develop special materials for it within the basic education stage to guide students at an early age to vocational education, pointing to the ministry's endeavor to improve the nature of work for teachers within the classroom and set additional wages for professional mentors for the hours assigned to them to teach.
