Several teenagers responded to the "Sing with you" activity in shopping malls in various districts and were suspected of sabotaging the "Hey Tea" shop in Shatin New Town Plaza. Among them, a 16-year-old had pleaded guilty earlier and was sentenced to a social service order.
Today (3rd), another 17-year-old defendant pleaded guilty to criminal damage and resisting arrest in the Sha Tin Court. Magistrate Wen Shaoming stated that because the higher court had issued a binding sentence, he did not want to give the defendant false hope, so he first returned the defendant. He was detained, and the case was postponed until February 17 and sentenced until the defendant’s rehabilitation center, training center, and labor camp were reported, and the defendant was ordered to pay 3,800 yuan.
The defendant, surnamed Zhou (17), admitted that on May 13 last year, he criminally destroyed the "Hey Tea" shop in New Town Plaza, Sha Tin, and resisted the arrest of the Sheriff 51030.
Zhou was arrested two days after escaping at the scene
The facts of the case allege that some netizens called for a "sing with you" activity in shopping malls in various districts, and plainclothes police officers posing as customers in the "Hey Tea" store.
At 9 o'clock in the evening, a number of people wearing black clothes and masks rushed into the store and used stones to destroy two cash registers and an Octopus cash register in the store, and one person stood by the door.
Upon seeing this, the disguised police tried to stop and subdue the two, but they struggled hard. Defendant Zhou succeeded in breaking free, but the other defendant was arrested.
The police arrested Zhou two days later, and he remained silent under caution.

The communication group has instructions to enter the store and destroy it
The police checked the phone of the arrested defendant and found that someone had contacted in a communication group called "heycondom" about 18 minutes before the incident. Zhou and the defendant were both members of the group, and both of them provided information in the group. After escaping the route, he was asked to rush into the shop and sabotage as instructed. Another week in another group, he suggested to the members the tools to bring.
Zhou Yuan wants to be a teacher
The defense pleaded that Zhou is currently in Form 5 and has a good relationship with his family. He hopes to become a teacher, but his dream is shattered because of this case, but he still works hard to prepare for the diploma exam.
The defense also pointed out that Zhou had a pure nature and regretted it very much. He hoped that the court would consider probation and social service orders.
Officials say that higher courts have issued binding guidelines
However, official Wen said that because the higher court has issued relevant cases and sentencing guidelines for anti-amendment cases, he does not want to give the defendant false hope, so he will ask for other reports.
The other four defendants aged 15 to 17 in the same case all denied the crimes of criminal damage, resisting arrest, and obstructing office work. The case was postponed to March 23 for pre-trial review.
