LE FIGARO. - You have tabled a motion for a resolution to force the executive to assess the consequences of health restrictions on public freedoms. Has the state gone too far?
VALERIE PETIT.-
Yes, the state sometimes goes too far in restricting liberty.
This is the raison d'être of my motion for a resolution “impact and proportionality of emergency measures on our freedoms”.
Some French people, such as restaurateurs, students or even the self-employed, cannot take it any longer, this raises a question about the acceptance of these measures even though the epidemic is not over.
A state of health emergency was declared in March, making almost 320 days of state of emergency.
The state of health emergency, let us remember, is not an obligation but a facility and a provisional concession made by Parliament to the executive power.
A state of emergency is not meant to go on forever,
