Economist and banker Mario Draghi today (Wednesday) received an invitation from Italian President Sergio Materella to form a coalition and serve as prime minister.

Draghi accepted the appointment after former Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte resigned last week.

Draghi, known as "Super Mario", is an economist and banker, previously serving as chairman of the Central Bank of Italy and president of the European Central Bank. Supporting the European Union in Italian politics.

Draghi is now facing tough negotiations, as he will have to persuade at least some members of the right-wing coalition to support the new coalition, a task in which his predecessor failed in office.

The leader of the right-wing alliance, Matthew Slavini, said today that his party members believe that "elections are the best option", but will meet with Draghi and hear his words.

President Mattarelli said today that his country could not withstand the uncertainty and tension of an election campaign in the midst of the Corona plague, which has killed more than 88,000 people in Italy.

Despite this, the days refuse to excuse.

The leader of the Italian Brotherhood, Georgia Meloni, said Italy did not need a "laboratory-born government".

"The president would rather force a government on us that would have difficulty functioning for two years, over the possibility of letting the Italian people decide on its future," Maloney said at a news conference.

Italy, like many European countries, is on the brink of a severe economic crisis, with the costs of fighting Corona joining the country's already national debt.
