Against the background of the possibility that the educational institutions in the general sector will open up and following pressure on the rabbis, principals from the ultra-Orthodox sector demand that their institutions be opened in the ultra-Orthodox concentrations

The Ministry of Health estimates that the outline that allows the closure of most educational institutions in the ultra-Orthodox sector is nearing collapse, due to heavy internal pressure on rabbis in recent weeks, and in light of discussions about opening schools and kindergartens in the general public in cities with no high morbidity.

In a closed discussion that took place this week with the ultra-Orthodox mayors, they dealt, among other things, with the opening of educational institutions with an emphasis on the ultra-Orthodox world.

"Once part of education is opened, it is estimated that most of the ultra-Orthodox sector will be opened," those present said.

Since the beginning of the closure, quite a few directors of educational institutions have been coming to Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky demanding the opening of their gates.

In a small number of cases, permission is granted to open, but it is important to note that at present most of the ultra-Orthodox institutions are still closed.

At the same time, about a week ago, the Rebbe of Viznitz ordered the opening of educational institutions in protest, but later withdrew.

However, the fact that the educational institutions in the general population are on the eve of an opening in one form or another, strengthens the demand on the part of the principals to open the institutions in the ultra-Orthodox concentrations as well.

The Ministry of Health believes that with the opening of the institutions to the general public, all the ultra-Orthodox institutions will also be opened, regardless of its level of morbidity.

Ministry of Health advisor to the ultra-Orthodox sector, Manny Haddad, responded to the publication and called for not opening the institutions in the ultra-Orthodox sector in view of the high morbidity: "It is in the interest of every parent to prevent his children from falling ill and bring illness home."
