Ohad Levy, a 36-year-old garbage truck worker from Galilee Crane, was killed this morning (Thursday) after a private car driver collided with the back of the truck he was standing on on Tavor Street in the city.
He was airlifted to Rambam Hospital in Haifa while undergoing resuscitation, but doctors were forced to determine his death.
Mark Levy, Ohad's father, told Israel Today that his son started working in the sanitation department only a few months ago.
"Before that he worked in a factory for the production of plastic bags and upholstery, and he went to work in the municipality's sanitation department during the Corona period after he heard that workers were being sought," Levy said.
"He was a happy kid with a lot of joy of life."
MDA paramedic Shoval Dagan, who treated a fan at the scene, said: "The wounded man was trapped between the truck and the vehicle while he was conscious and suffering from very severe injuries to his lower limbs. During the complex rescue operations, we provided him with life-saving medical treatment, which included placing arterial blockages, providing fluids and medication. "
