US President Joe Biden called for an end to the ongoing war in Yemen, declaring his intention to put an end to his country's support for the Saudi aggression coalition and US arms sales to it.
"The United States will end its support for combat operations in the Saudi-led campaign in Yemen," Biden said in a speech at the US State Department, Agence France-Presse, adding, "This war must end."
Biden added, "We are strengthening our diplomatic efforts to end the war in Yemen, a war that has created a humanitarian and strategic catastrophe."
The US President also affirmed that his country will intensify its efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement of the Yemeni crisis.
The Saudi regime, with the support of the United States and its allies, has launched an aggression against the Yemeni people since March 2015, which has left tens of thousands of victims and massive destruction of the country's infrastructure.
