2020 was a difficult year for
Cacho Fontana
, who at 88 years old, had to be hospitalized for having contracted
coronavirus
.
Despite the fact that he was able to overcome the disease, at the beginning of the year the renowned radio and television announcer was admitted again due to a
complication in his health.
Cacho was transferred from the Inter Plaza Rehabilitation and Geriatrics Clinic, where he is staying, and was
admitted
, in the last hours, to the Fernández Hospital for pneumonia.
It was Ángel de Brito, in
Los Angeles de la Mañana
(El Trece, at 11
o'clock
), who told the scoop on the delicate state of health of the historic communicator.
"I have a last minute news, I am talking about the great Cacho Fontana ... a small scare.
They took him from the nursing home to the Fernández hospital.
There was a lot of confusion because they did not notify his daughter of the transfer," De Brito said.
Consulted by
Clarín
, Fontana's daughter,
Antonella
, confirmed that her father was admitted this Thursday morning and ruled out that he has been infected with COVID-19 again, one of the biggest concerns that his family had.
Antonella Palese, Cacho's daughter, spoke of her father's state of health.
"Covid issue: it was negative on 01/27. I do not know what the Fernández Hospital protocol will be like and if they will do it (to the studies) again.
More than that, it is not known. We are waiting for a medical report," said his daughter in dialogue with
Clarín
.
"Last night
they called me to tell me that Dad was not well
, it was the ambulance, it seems that it was the beginning of pneumonia, that hospitalization was not necessary," Antonella had commented.
Later, the young woman clarified that later they called her from the nursing home where her father lives and that they had transferred him, but without consulting her.
Fontana's last hospitalization had been in August of last year for a dehydration picture that he suffered after having overcome the coronavirus.
