Closure results: The

outbreak of the corona plague last March affected both the reduction in the volume of work in the economy in terms of the number of employee jobs and the average wage per employee job.

The number of employee jobs of Israeli workers in November was 3.252 million.

This is a decrease of 13% compared to the same month last year.

Last October the number of employees was 3.102 million and in September 3.389 million.

Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics show that "the average gross salary per employee job of Israeli workers in November 2020", that in the hospitality and food services industry there was a 63.4% decrease in the number of employee jobs.

In the arts, entertainment and leisure industry there was a decrease of 53.2% and in the trade industry - a decrease of 17.9%.

The average wage per employee post of Israeli workers at current prices in November was NIS 11,525, an increase of 9.9% compared to November 2019, when the average wage was NIS 10,483.

Last October, the salary was NIS 11,602 and last September it was NIS 11,359.

The average wage per employee post at constant prices (excluding the effects of the index) was NIS 10,946.

This is an even higher increase - of 10.6% compared to November 2019.

Wages and employment data include the number of workers employed in that month and the total wages paid to them.

The calculation of the average wage does not refer to the number of days in the month in which the workers were employed.

Therefore, due to the first closure, the average wage increased in April 2020 by 15.2% compared to the previous month, and due to the second closure, the average wage increased in October 2020 by 2.1% compared to the previous month.

This is because the workers who were laid off or fired from their jobs are usually workers whose wages were lower than average.

In November, the largest sector was the non-financial corporations sector, which employed 2,036 million employees with 62.6% of all employee jobs in the economy.

The average salary per employee job in this sector was NIS 12,554.

21.5% of all employee jobs in the economy were in the government sector with 698.6 thousand employee jobs, with 1 in 5 employees in the government, and an average salary of NIS 10,932 per employee job at current prices.

Households accounted for 7.5% with 242.7 thousand employee jobs and an average salary of NIS 6,731 per employee job at current prices. Households accounted for 5.4% of all employee jobs in the economy with 176.4 thousand jobs and a salary of NIS 5,336, and financial companies accounted for 3% with 98.8 thousand Employee jobs and an average salary of NIS 18,189.
