The alarms were set off in the field after the Deputy Chief of Staff, Cecilia Todesca, admits that she "does not rule out" an increase in withholdings in the field to begin to stabilize the economy.

The Government can still raise the aliquot of withholdings on wheat and corn 3 percentage points (today 12% are taxed) after the power granted by Congress after the approval in December 20219 of the Law of Social Solidarity and Productive Reactivation .

It should be remembered that in January the field carried out a marketing halt in protest against the closure of corn exports ordered by the Government at the end of 2020. So if there is a new increase in withholdings, it will put in guard the field.
