The incoming police commissioner, Major General Kobi Shabtai, presented his work plan for the organization at a first meeting of senior command staff last week. The incoming commissioner also plans to strengthen the spatial crime units (ILP).

Today, most serious crime cases are investigated in the central units that exist in each district.

The spatial crime units do not have the technological capabilities that LMR has, and the goal is to equip them with the same means. By doing so, the commissioner intends to reduce the pressure from the district units, and strengthen and upgrade the investigation system in the spaces.

In addition, Saturn is interested in soon raising all 100 command center commanders from the rank of superintendent to the rank of deputy superintendent, increasing the centers and providing them with professional training.

Police sources say that he understands that Hotline 100 is one of the most sensitive and important places in the organization, and that he intends to work to improve the response through him and through the establishment of additional stations throughout the country.

He also decided to minimize habitual policing.

A police source said the foot patrols were mainly intended for visibility in the field, but in practice their effectiveness is low.

300 police officers will be transferred from the regular patrol to the mobile patrol system around the country, where 366 police officers are currently missing.

The relocation of hundreds of regular patrol officers will reduce police response time and significantly thicken the mobility array.
