Munich Airport -

Some citizens in Bavaria have been amazed in the last few days: They suddenly received mail from Munich Airport.

And that without having booked, canceled or taken a trip beforehand - which is difficult to do anyway due to the ongoing corona pandemic.

In the end, however, the content of the letters was even more surprising, as they contained authorization certificates for FFP2 masks.

These were sent in Bavaria - as in the other 15 federal states - and entitle the recipient to pick up a total of twelve FFP2 masks for a small additional payment from a pharmacy.

Munich Airport sends FFP2 authorization certificates - what's behind it?

The idea for the vouchers came up when the federal government decided to make FFP2 mandatory for certain public areas and should primarily benefit people who either belong to a certain risk group or cannot afford FFP2 masks due to their financial situation.

Why the notes were sent from Munich Airport, however, struck many citizens as strange.

They shared their concerns on the internet.

Corona pandemic in Bavaria: FFP2 bills from Munich Airport - citizens are confused

Falsely sent FFP2 certificates have been reported on the network for days.

Even the Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) admitted that he had also received such certificates, although he by no means belongs to the risk group.

Finally it was partially cleared why some people who did not expect it received such certificates.

But what was it about Munich Airport as the sender?

FFP2 obligation in Bavaria: Trigger of many discussions - Munich Airport with clarification

Since the inquiries on the Internet about this increased, and some of them were also addressed directly to those responsible at the airport, they were finally able to clarify the situation.

In a response on Twitter to one of the users, the airport said: “Since the corresponding letters with the vouchers from the Bundesdruckerei were posted at the Munich Airport post office, our sender appears in the address field.

Have a nice evening. ”So the sender was not Munich Airport, the letters were simply posted there.

The vouchers can now be redeemed without hesitation (apart from your own conscience) in any pharmacy.

The obligation to wear the FFP2 mask had already been sought for discussions several times in Bavaria.

Thousands of defective copies had to be recalled several times.

Others complained that the masks were more expensive than normal everyday masks and that they had to be changed more often.

An entrepreneur from Germering tried to remedy this by making FFP2 reusable masks.

However, these cannot be worn in Bavaria of all places.
