A line in the apartment - and no solution in sight.

Angelika Güngerich's unpopular roommate has not been caught for months.

Bad Aibling - Angelika Güngerich from Bad Aibling (Rosenheim district) would love to do without this roommate.

The 75-year-old has involuntarily lived with a snake in her apartment since autumn.

And she doesn't even think about leaving her warm domicile.

Even snake expert Andreas Paukert is at a loss.

“I've never looked for an animal for so long,” he says.

Queue in the apartment - "I've kept the bedroom door strictly closed since then"

Everything had started with a rustling noise that Güngerich heard at night.

She was afraid it might be mice.

Until she spotted a one meter long snake on the corner bench.

"She dropped to the floor and was gone." The elderly woman heard the snake again and again - she never saw it again.

"I've kept the bedroom door strictly closed since then, so I can't get it in," she says.

However, the unloved roommate seems to have gotten used to her by now.

The 75-year-old keeps hearing noises from the cupboard under the sink.

“Sure, because it's warm there,” says Paukert.

The Kolbermoorer is Güngerich's last hope.

"I've already turned to so many places, but nobody could help me." Paukert is outraged about tips such as rat traps or a board with double-sided adhesive tape.

“An unbelievable cruelty to animals.

The snake would perish miserably. ”A search with a dog is also out of the question.

"For that I would first need another grass snake so that it can take in the weather."

Snake expert is certain that it is a grass snake

Snake expert Paukert catches around 100 snakes in gardens, sheds or apartments every year.

Usually it's quick.

But he has already traveled to Bad Aibling more than ten times and crawled into the cleared cavities.

A craftsman even completely dismantled the fitted kitchen.

But there was a small gap in which the snake could hide.

Paukert is certain that it is a grass snake.

“She can already endure six months without food like frogs, fish, snails or mice.

But we don't know how long she has actually been in the apartment. ”That depends on whether she will survive until spring and possibly find her way out through the patio door again.

Fatal, if not: You can only identify their hiding place based on the smell of decay.

Paukert has now set up a live trap and also installed two wildlife cameras.

In the hope of getting on the track of the unpopular roommate.
