The Palestinian Authority intends to transfer between 800 and 1,000 doses of vaccine against the corona virus to the Gaza Strip, according to a document that the state forwarded to the High Court today (Thursday) as part of the Goldin family's petition.
According to the document, officials coordinating government operations in the territories have learned that the PA is interested in transferring the Russian vaccine doses they are supposed to receive to Gaza.
The chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Zvi Hauser (New Hope), called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to immediately clarify his position on the issue, because if such a request is eventually submitted by the PA, the prime minister will have to approve it.
"There is an attempt to obscure and hide information from the public regarding the prime minister's willingness to surrender to Hamas' demands and give up the opportunity to bring the boys home," Hauser said.
"Surrender now will prepare a higher future price payment."
Earlier today, 10,000 doses of the Sputnik 5, the Russian vaccine against the corona, donated by Moscow to the Palestinian Authority arrived.
The vaccines were transferred to the Authority in coordination with the IDF from the Ben Gurion Airport.
In addition, last week a senior official in Ramallah confirmed to Israel Today last week that between 5,000 and 7,000 vaccine doses would be transferred from Israel to the PA, in order to vaccinate the Palestinian medical teams.
On Monday, Israel delivered 2,000 vaccine doses from a modern company as the first pulse to the PA's medical staff.
These dishes join another 200 dishes, of the Pfizer company, which Israel transferred to the Authority about two weeks ago.
The Goldin family's petition to the High Court, in which they demanded an interim order banning the movement of people, goods and corona vaccines to and from the Gaza Strip until the return of captured soldiers and civilians in Gaza, claims that the Israeli government and security forces allow large numbers of people and goods to and from Gaza. By virtue of the rules of international law.
