US MPs will vote on Thursday February 4 on the expulsion of a controversial pro-Trump elected official from several House committees, according to a Democratic official.
Democrats' No.2 in the lower house, Steny Hoyer, said Wednesday he spoke with Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy about MP Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Georgia's elected official has come under fire from criticism and calls for resignation for her support of conspiracy theories, her past statements against a victim of the Parkland High School killing, and comments appearing to call for to the execution of Democrats.
Hoyer and McCarthy have not reached agreement on the fate of Taylor Greene, who is due to serve on the House Education and Budget Committees, a vote is due on Thursday.

It is clear that there is no alternative to a vote in the House on the resolution to expel Taylor Greene from the committees to which she has been appointed,
" Steny Hoyer said in a statement.
The House Rules Committee met on Wednesday to prepare a motion for a vote in plenary.
Elected officials, mostly Democrats, will vote on this motion on Thursday.
Kevin McCarthy, for his part, argued that this vote only served to "
divert attention
", adding that the Democrats were leading "
a partisan coup concerning the assignments to the commissions (of the members) of the other party
".
Before being elected, Marjorie Taylor Greene had "
liked
" on Facebook a comment claiming that a "
bullet in the head
" of Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic Speaker of the House, would be the fastest way for her to do so. no longer occupies his position, according to CNN.
She had also written that several school shootings had been staged in an attempt to tighten the regulation of firearms.
