US MPs will vote on Thursday February 4 on the expulsion of a controversial pro-Trump elected official from several House committees, according to a Democratic official.

Democrats' No.2 in the lower house, Steny Hoyer, said Wednesday he spoke with Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy about MP Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Georgia's elected official has come under fire from criticism and calls for resignation for her support of conspiracy theories, her past statements against a victim of the Parkland High School killing, and comments appearing to call for to the execution of Democrats.

Hoyer and McCarthy have not reached agreement on the fate of Taylor Greene, who is due to serve on the House Education and Budget Committees, a vote is due on Thursday.
