The idea of exempting people who have been vaccinated against the virus from the applicable corona requirements has met with resistance from citizens.

As can be seen from a survey by ARD, a good two thirds of respondents (68 percent) are against exempting vaccinated people from the current restrictions.

Compared to the previous month, however, the rejection has decreased by around five percentage points.

The Ethics Council had previously spoken out against special rights.

"At the present time, the Ethics Council is of the opinion that the individual withdrawal of state restrictions on freedom is prohibited because the possibility of the virus being spread by vaccinated people cannot be ruled out with sufficient certainty," it said in a press release.

According to the German ARD trend, supporters of special treatment for vaccinated people can be found primarily among supporters of the FDP.

Around 48 percent are in favor of special treatment, 50 percent are against.

The greatest rejection, however, is found among AfD sympathizers.

Only 12 percent of supporters are in favor of special rights for corona-vaccinated people, 87 percent were against.

Increased willingness to vaccinate and concern for the development of children

Accordingly, the willingness to have a corona vaccination has apparently increased recently.

In January, just under 54 percent of those surveyed stated that they "definitely" wanted to be vaccinated, now it is 59 percent.

According to the German trend, the proportion of those who "definitely do not" want to be vaccinated is constant at 12 percent.

The respondents are increasingly concerned about possible developmental impairments in children due to the ongoing shutdown and nationwide school closings.

44 percent of those surveyed, and thus almost twice as many as in the previous month, said they were worried about the long-term consequences "very great".
