An extension of the day care “Villa Glückskind” is off the table - at least at the current location on Saglerstrasse. An extension of the day care “Villa Glückskind” is off the table - at least at the current location on Saglerstrasse.

The childcare facility may move in the foreseeable future and will have the opportunity to open another group there.

Third Mayor Andrea Hanisch, who had submitted the application for the extension of the day-care center for the Independent Citizens (UB), has now withdrawn it in the Social Committee.

Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn - As reported, the teachers of the "Villa Glückskind" are currently looking after ten children up to three years of age in a group.

Because the manager has enough staff on hand and would also like to offer childcare for kindergarten children, the idea of adding another group to the daycare had arisen.

For this purpose, the facility would have liked to use the rooms in the residential and commercial building, which is currently the home of the municipality's municipal company.

Childcare places for three to six year olds: the municipality sees no further need

As Mayor Mindy Konwitschny (SPD) explained in the social committee meeting, the community currently sees “no need” to open another care group in the kindergarten area.

Theoretically, there are enough kindergarten places in the local care facilities, especially since a further 50 kindergarten places will be created in September with the opening of the children's house on Ostersteigstrasse.

The fact that around 60 girls and boys of kindergarten age are currently on the waiting list for a childcare place is due to the continuing shortage of skilled workers.

According to Hanisch, the "Villa Glückskind" is quite ready to adapt to the needs in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn.

The facility also has the staff to provide care for after-school children, she emphasized.

It is precisely there that the municipal administration sees an urgent need for action in the next few years.

Current location offers potential for conflict

However, from the point of view of the municipal administration, an extension of the "Villa Glückskind", whatever it looks like, does not make sense at the current location.

The potential for conflict with tenants and owner-occupiers is too great.

“After all, there is also a restaurant next door,” Konwitschny reminded.

But as the town hall chief explained, the head of the facility does not insist on an extension on Saglerstrasse.

According to Hanisch, she is in negotiations with a building owner, so that a move is becoming apparent.

Herbert Reisnecker (SPD) brought the old Siegertsbrunn fire station into play as a possible location for a care facility.

Because as soon as the Siegertsbrunn fire helpers move into their new fire fighting equipment house at the turn of the year, the building on Bahnhofstrasse would be empty and wait for a new use.

Konwitschny then announced that the old fire station would be used again soon.
