The Minister of Health of Peru, Pilar Mazzetti, confirmed that the so-called Brazilian variant of the virus that causes covid-19 is already in the country.
In a presentation before the Congress of the Republic, Dr. Mazzetti explained that the National Institute of Health had sequenced several samples.
The investigation revealed the appearance of this variant in the regions of Loreto, Huánuco and some parts of Lima.
