2021-02-05T18:58:17.495Z

At the wheel of a van, a driver ran over two people Wednesday at the end of the day, killing one of them. A teenage girl tells

The teenager can't stop thinking about it since Wednesday night.

" Especially at night.

I am very shocked, ”confides the one who witnessed a very shocking scene at the end of the day in La Défense (Hauts-de-Seine).

A 46-year-old man, driving a stolen service van, mowed two people down.

One of the victims, a 62-year-old woman, died of her injuries about an hour later, despite the intervention of the Samu.

A 30-year-old man suffered leg injuries.

The teenager who testified did not see the vehicle run over these two people.

"I just heard the cries of the lady," says the young girl, still very moved.

On the other hand, she clearly saw this vehicle rushing over her.

“We just had time to move around with the friend who was accompanying me.

Limit, we came close to death, ”trembles, after the fact, the young girl who had come to join her friend on the forecourt of La Défense.

Fortunately, the two women were not injured.

"The man came down, he looked at us"

It was between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., said the witness.

"It happened just in front of the Arch, at McDonald's," she rewinds.

Suddenly, I saw the vehicle hit a low wall and then set off again quite quickly, continuing to level this wall.

I think that's what ended up stopping him.

"

And to continue: “The man got out of the van, he looked at us.

He was walking quietly at first and when he saw that a rally was forming he ran away.

The teenager then turned around.

“It was then that I saw the lady under the vehicle.

"

The young girl and her friend were interviewed at the police station and directed to a psychologist.

“We were able to talk to her that very evening and we have to talk to each other again,” she says, appreciating this support and being able to quickly talk about this tragedy.

“It's getting better but I'm still in shock,” she admits.

The teenager is certain: the driver of the vehicle has, according to her, deliberately "rushed at people".

The driver was indicted on Friday

The true intention of this 46-year-old man, a homeless Angolan who regularly zoned in the business district, is what the investigators of the PJ 92 will have to determine.

After two days in police custody, the man was referred to the prosecution on Friday to be indicted as part of the judicial investigation opened for "murder, attempted murder and theft".

So far, the person claims to have simply not seen the victims.

According to him, he just wanted to play a bad joke on the cleaning staff in the business district.

The cleaning team had just dismounted to collect the garbage from the forecourt.

The homeless, very drunk, took his place in the driver's seat and rushed towards two passers-by.

The woman, literally crushed, was traveling with so much stuff that she too could be homeless.

As for the thirty-something, he was walking around the neighborhood.

After his indictment, the mad driver will most likely be held in pre-trial detention.
