The Hong Kong Government announced yesterday (5th) that from the 20th of this month, crew members and crew members who were previously exempted from quarantine in Hong Kong will be required to undergo "14+7" departure testing and arrangements, that is, to self-quarantine at designated quarantine hotels for 14 days. You can enter the community and receive medical surveillance within 7 days, including 2 tests, and you can perform duties again after being negative.

Cathay Pacific announced a new measure overnight, requiring crew members to sign a voluntary letter before February 11 to cooperate with the closed-loop flight measures. That is, each time the crew performs work, they will be isolated for at least 35 days and cannot see relatives and friends.

This arrangement is tentatively scheduled for 7 weeks.

Only passenger flights to mainland China, Taiwan and Macau, or routes without passengers can be exempted.

Cathay Pacific sent an email to the crew in the early morning, asking the staff to voluntarily perform a 21-day closed flight. During each return to Hong Kong, they must be quarantined at the Yitaiju in Cathay City at the airport until the next flight.

At the end of the 21 days, the crew will need to quarantine at the East Hong Kong Hotel in Quarry Bay for another 14 days before they can go home.

Once the isolation is over and return to the community, the crew will have a 14-day holiday, which includes the 7-day medical observation period prescribed by the government, during which two additional tests are required, respectively on the 15th, 19th or 20th day of arrival.

The email refers to: I understand the impact of the new regulations on the lives of the crew members and their families, and I will try my best to assist them and make some financial compensation during the period.

Including a daily breakfast of RMB 78, lunch of RMB 287, dinner of RMB 327, overnight stay of RMB 125, and laundry allowance of RMB 148 per day during the hotel isolation period.

In addition to financial incentives, Cathay Pacific will also provide sports facilities and more food choices in the hotel during the period to maintain the physical and mental health of the crew during closed-loop flight and isolation.

After completing the 21-day closed-loop flight, you will receive a "Completion Closed-loop Allowance" ranging from 280-450 yuan per day according to the position.

If the crew feels unable to continue during the closed loop, the company will arrange to release the closed loop immediately, but employees still need to complete the 14+7 isolation quarantine calculated from this moment.

That is, if you cannot complete the closed-loop flight on the 21st, you still need to be isolated for 14 days to go home, but there will be no "complete closed-loop allowance."

Since the government's isolation policy for crews is limited to arrivals from regions outside of China, routes to China, Taiwan, and Macau do not require "closed-loop flight". In addition, crew members of returning passenger or cargo aircraft without passengers can also be "immunized."

The email hopes that someone will voluntarily implement this temporary replacement arrangement: "If it is not necessary, we will not ask for your help in this way.
