Pierre-Yves Bournazel: "There is a populist danger for 2022"

2021-02-05T18:37:35.397Z

VIDEO - The elected centrist welcomes the action of the Head of State and Government, "solid in the storm".

"Almost a year from the presidential election, everything that is worn by Emmanuel Macron and by this government is criticized by all those who want to run,"

said Pierre-Yves Bournazel who was the guest of "Talk Le Figaro on Friday. ".

He even argues that

"any legal text is probably used to make anti-macronism".

This is currently the case with the bill aimed at strengthening respect for republican principles, a text that the deputy Agir Ensemble de Paris is familiar with.

"This bill is good because it is balanced", he

judges, recalling that in the republican principles which can be

"flouted by a certain number of enemies of the Republic",

there is the principle of secularism to which he is very attached.

Yet criticized on the right for its lack of provisions concerning the wearing of veil, as on the left for its liberticidal aspect, the text proves

"that we are precisely in balance",

welcomes the elected centrist.

In the special commission of which he was vice-president,

"All, on the right, are not so critical and recognize that it is a good text",

assures Bournazel.

In the National Assembly, moreover,

"the LR group votes many articles", he

slips in passing.

And if some, on the right, want to integrate measures on terrorism, others want to integrate measures on immigration.

“It's not a catch-all text,” he

annoys.

Convinced of the benefits of this future law, Bournazel hammers out the major provisions:

"We have created an offense of separatism, we are protecting civil servants in the public service, we will train teachers more in secularism, we will act against virginity certificates, we will promote gender equality. ”

The sense of responsibilities

His position on wearing the veil?

"The full veil is absolutely prohibited in France for questions of public order, and at school since 2004",

because they are underage girls.

However, its position is different within the walls of the university or for the school guides.

"Secularism is the protection of freedom of conscience", he

insists.

"These adult women believe, they are Muslims, if they wish to wear a veil, it is their right."

In times of tension, the deputy Agir ensemble pleads for a sense of responsibility and a sense of rationality.

Annoyed by criticism from both sides,

“we do not govern with a sudden“ yakafokon ”,”

he defends.

He welcomes the action of the Head of State and of the government

"at the rendezvous",

agrees the deputy.

Bournazel is full of praise for the president whose ideas he shares and relays.

"He is extremely solid in the storm and in the crisis that we are going through, he is a very charismatic leader to carry the voice of France, especially in Europe, to defend our interests."

Worried by the rise of populism,

“deeply humanist, social liberal European ideas”

will have to be embodied in the next five-year term.

2022 will be the year of all dangers:

"In France, as elsewhere, the rise of populism in the face of the crisis is prospering",

he concludes.
