The weather in Hong Kong today is forecast to be fine.

The new 9-carriage trains and new signal system on the MTR East Rail Line were launched today (6th). There will be a "mixed running" situation where 9-carriage and 12-carriage trains run at the same time, with different boarding positions and door distributions.

The first 9 trucks departed from Sha Tin Station to Kowloon Tong at about 5:30 this morning.

During the morning peak hours, only the old 12 trucks are arranged to drive towards Hung Hom.

The MTR has hired an additional 300 people to assist passengers in adapting to the new train operation. During peak hours, "Gee Trains" will be prepared at multi-passenger stations and free shuttle buses will also be provided.

Temporary traffic and transportation arrangements along Flower Market Road in Mong Kok [festivals/events]

To cope with the police's implementation of crowd management arrangements on Flower Market Road in Mong Kok before the Lunar New Year in 2021, the following temporary traffic and transportation arrangements will be implemented: The following road sections will be temporarily closed at 8 am on February 6th until February 2021 8 am on the 12th: Flower Market Road; Yu Yu Street; Yuen Po Street and Prince Edward Road West slip road between Sai Yee Street and Embankment Road.

All vehicles (except those with valid permits) are prohibited from entering the above road sections from 12:01 am to 5 pm every day.

During the above road closure period, all vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from turning right into Sai Yee Street (northbound) from Prince Edward Road West (westbound).

Affected vehicles will be diverted to Prince Edward Road West (westbound), Tung Choi Street, Sports Ground Road/Boundary Street, Fa Yuen Street, Prince Edward Road West slip road and Sai Yee Street (northbound).

All vehicles will be prohibited from entering Prince Edward from 6 pm on February 10, 2021 to 4 am on February 11, 2021, and from 2 pm on February 11, 2021 to 8 am on February 12, 2021. Road West (westbound) near Nathan Road and U-turn to Prince Edward Road West (eastbound).

To cope with the implementation of the first phase of special traffic and transportation arrangements for the 2021 Lunar New Year Fair in Victoria Park

The police will close the following road sections or traffic lanes from February 6 (year 25) to February 10 (year 29) from 8 am to 1 am the following day:

(i) The unnamed section of the entrance to the northern end of Park Towers parking lot (except for vehicles entering and exiting Park Park Towers parking lot);

(ii) Hing Fat Street between Causeway Road and Lau Li Street (except franchised buses and green minibuses);

(iii) Liuli Street between Hing Fat Street and Yin Mo Street (excluding parking spaces for the disabled); and

(iv) Electric Road is part of the traffic lane between Mercury Street and Sailing Street.

Depending on the current crowds, the road closure area may be expanded.

Temporary traffic arrangements on Tsing Yi Rural Committee Road (southbound) and Kwai Tsing Road (eastbound)

In order to cope with the tree pruning project, the authorities will implement the following temporary traffic and transportation arrangements in Kwai Tsing District from 11 pm on February 6, 2021 to 2 am the following day: Tsing Yi Rural Committee Road (Southbound) to Kwai Tsing Road (East) Line) will be temporarily closed to all vehicles.

Affected vehicles travelling along Tsing Yi Rural Committee Road (southbound) to Kwai Tsing Road (eastbound) will be diverted via Tsing Yi Interchange and Kwai Tsing Road (eastbound).

New Territories Green Minibus Route No. 88 (towards Kwai Fong Station) and 88B (towards Kwai Fong Station) will be diverted via Tsing Yi Interchange and then back to the original route of Kwai Tsing Road (eastbound).

Temporary Traffic Arrangements in Yau Ma Tei [Road Works]

In order to cooperate with the Central Kowloon Route-Yau Ma Tei East Project, the authorities will implement from 5:30 am on February 6 to April 30: The section of Saigon Street (westbound) between Ferry Street and Canton Road will be double-lane One-way traffic will be temporarily changed to two-lane two-way traffic; all vehicles exceeding 7 meters in length will be temporarily prohibited from turning left from Ferry Street (southbound) into Sai Kung Street; along Ferry Street (southbound) to Sai Kung Street, the length exceeds 7 meters Vehicles will be diverted via Jordan Road (eastbound), Canton Road (northbound) or Battery Street (northbound)

Temporary Traffic Arrangements on Tuen Mun Highway [Road Works]

To cope with the trial traffic arrangement, the authorities will temporarily close Tuen Mun Highway (towards Tuen Mun) from 6 am on February 6 to 6 am on March 7 from about 200 meters north of its junction with the Tsing Long Highway slip road From the slow line to about 350 meters south of the same junction, all vehicles are prohibited from entering.
