The case is still under investigation. The customs is tracing the source of the cherries involved and sending samples to the government laboratory for inspection to determine its safety.

According to Zhu Baoding, Senior Investigation Officer of the Second Team of the General Investigation Team of the Customs Copyright and Trademarks, the seized exhibits included packaging materials. It is not excluded that some people would pack cheap cherries into counterfeit goods in the store to obtain the price difference.

At present, the market price of Australian Tasmanian cherries ranges from 400 to 600 yuan, and the price depends on the size of the cherries. The price of counterfeit cherries is 75% of the original product, and each box is about 300 to 450 yuan.
