Branded himself as the "Minister of Gas".

While many countries around the world internalize the need to move from polluting energies to renewable energies - in order to stem the climate crisis, reduce air pollution and prepare for the changing needs of the world - the Ministry of Energy, led by Minister Yuval Steinitz and CEO Udi Adiri, insists on sticking to polluting energies. A blatant disregard for the health, ecological, economic and security damage they cause.

Steinitz declares support for all and beyond clean energies. But according to the Steinitz agenda, which goes against all responsible climatic logic, gas is clean energy, and it is not. The gas is clean of coal. And fuel oil, however the process of producing and using gas emits enormous amounts of methane, which is a gas that is far more dangerous to the climate than carbon, and therefore its use as energy for a transitional period should only be reduced until renewable energy can be relied upon entirely.

The minister has branded himself as the "gas minister", a title that exhibits embarrassing climatic ignorance, and works to promote investment of billions of taxpayers' money and our savings deposited in financial entities, building energy infrastructure tailored to previous decades, instead of producing a climate vision ahead.

Not only is the minister wrong, he is also misleading on the question of what is clean energy.

Sometimes it "gets confused" and calls for gas renewable energy.

A huge battle is raging these days between the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection, which is promoting a government program to reduce carbon emissions and ensure the safety of Israeli residents and the resilience of the state for generations.

Steinitz wields all his power, acting as he did in the struggle to remove a whale rig from the shore, then acting in the service of the petrochemical industry and contrary to the benefit of the inhabitants of the coastal plain.

The Minister personally calls on the heads of local authorities, scientists, manufacturers, journalists, and presses for their support in the effort not to reduce emissions, thus effectively making Israel the only Western country to return from climate commitments in international forums.

A statement that only recently Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeated at an international forum marking the fifth anniversary of the Paris climate conference.

Hundreds of billions of petrochemical projects are currently on the planning tables, including a huge gas pipeline from the Mediterranean Sea through the Arava to Eilat, at the end of which is a polluting and dangerous drainage facility for gas export purposes.

This project will destroy the efforts of the residents of the south to make the Arava and Eilat a global example of full reliance on solar energy, and may pollute and damage nature reserves and even endanger Eilat and Ashkelon in terms of security.

In addition, gas power plants are being promoted over valuable groundwater and in the vicinity of the public, energy companies are invited to drill more gas and oil in the sea, without having yet to arrange readiness for emergency treatment of leaks and pollution.

The Ministry of Energy is also pushing with all its might to keep the polluting petrochemical industry in Haifa Bay and even expand it and the pollution it creates, despite the widespread morbidity and death caused to thousands of people.

Insists on adhering to polluting energies.

All this, a reversal of the global trend, where we are witnessing fossil energy companies and refineries closing down, following the expansion of countries and large financial entities to invest in and prefer renewable energy (solar, wind, water) and declining demand for fossil fuels (oil, gas, coal, oil shale ).

Trillions of dollars have already been diverted from funding fossil fuels, and this trend is gaining momentum.

Israel, environmental organizations and activists, including We at clear, established the "Forum clean money", which accelerates this trend also in the country, and subsequently launched last December, the Israeli stock exchange "TA -125 climate clean fossil fuels."

Deserved Steinitz Will take advantage of the new connection with the Gulf countries and global energy giants to promote a connection between them and the start-up nation's capabilities, to create a global line of energy revolution with an emphasis on immediate abandonment of polluting fuels. Steinitz managed to squeeze the last dollars of polluting industry at Israel's health and nature And at the expense of our public coffers and savings. The
