The Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion is currently hearing (Saturday night) a request to extend the detention of the patrol officer at the police station in the city of Modi'in and a resident of Na'ala, who was arrested yesterday on suspicion of shooting to death his wife Diana Raz, during an argument between the two.

The suspect was arrested by the Department of Police Investigation.

His defense attorney, Moshe Alon, asked the court to send him for a psychiatric examination.

The suspect was not brought to the hearing because he is in solitary confinement, due to knowledge that he came in contact with a verified patient in Corona.

The hearing was held in the presence of relatives on both sides.

According to the investigation so far, as brought before the court in the reports for the judge's review, the husband fired two shots at his wife one of which hit her in the head and caused her death.

He then called his mother and asked her to come pick up the four children, then called his direct commander at the station and admitted that he had shot his wife.

According to investigators, the murder was committed while the children were at home although during the argument between the couple the children were asked to go to their room.

Investigators have preliminary testimony from one of the children, as he told a relative, in which the boy claimed that when they went downstairs with Dad they saw that "Mom was on the floor and there was a lot of blood and she did not get up".

The boy confirmed that the parents were arguing and at one point the rest asked them to go up to the rooms.

The researchers added that the couple did not have any background of domestic violence, and there were no complaints from the woman in the past.

Investigators noted that the suspect recounted the incident during Saturday morning, claiming in his interrogation that "I do not know why I did it. I was in a blackout. It was a moment of loss of control."

According to investigators, as stated, he admitted to the act.

The suspect's parents came to the hearing, as well as the deceased's cousin, Michael Yusupov, who said, among other things: "I wanted to look him in the eye. Understand why he did it."

He said he had spoken to the deceased the day before, and everything sounded fine.

"We laughed and talked about all sorts of things. She said she was looking for a home for us in the community so we could be closer."

He added that on the evening of the event, the couple celebrated the birthday of one of their children

Diana worked as a marriage counselor and maintained Facebook and YouTube pages.

In one of the videos she posted on social media, which was titled "How do you recognize that you are in an abusive and violent relationship?", She said: "Many times it is very, very difficult to identify, because physical violence does not actually take place. "It's very difficult for me to do this live. A lot of times we say, 'It's not going to happen to me,' 'I will know how to stop it.'

Neighbors of the couple were stunned by the murder, saying they were a loving and devoted couple.

The two were not known to the police or welfare services, however, a relative close to the family said that problems and tensions had recently arisen between them.

Her superiors had a hard time digesting the tragedy.

A high-ranking spokeswoman said: "Diana volunteered in wide circles in the community. There is no resident here that Diana did not touch. An exemplary mother, a wonderful friend. Everyone who knew her was blessed in her vicinity. Captured. "

President Reuven Rivlin commented today on the murder: "Diana Raz was murdered last night by her husband in front of her four children. She was a model for inner strength and inspiration for so many women. A professional who changed lives and gave confidence, taught family. We must not forget the face, the "The names, the lives that were taken cruelly and out of a dangerous sense of ownership. Women's terrorism must be stopped."
