Five people, including three underage high school students, were indicted in the context of an open judicial investigation for rape and sexual assault on two 13 and 11-year-old schoolchildren, announced on Saturday the public prosecutor of Bastia, Arnaud Viornery, in a press release.

After being presented yesterday to an investigating judge of the Bastia judicial court (Haute-Corse), four of these young men were remanded in custody in Borgo prison, the fifth was placed under judicial supervision.
As revealed by France 3 Corse Via Stella this week, the investigation follows complaints filed by the parents of the two middle school girls in Bastia.
At the center of the case, a 17-year-old teenager, himself a high school student in Bastia, is suspected of having asked the 13-year-old girl to send him naked photos of her, via the Snapchat application, in the spring 2020. After having obtained and recorded them, unbeknownst to the teenager, he would then have used them as a means of pressure to force her to perform sexual favors, for himself and several comrades.
In January, the same young man allegedly approached another schoolgirl, aged 11 this time, to also obtain photos of her naked.
She had refused but had been the target of attempted intimidation, particularly of a sexual nature.
The two teenagers were heard for several hours this week at the Bastia police station.
