The Director General of the Syrian Establishment for Bakeries, Ziad Hazaa Lisa, confirmed the relative decline in the phenomenon of overcrowding in most of Damascus bakeries today, as a result of implementing a series of measures.
The procedures, according to Hazaa, consisted in preventing the bakeries from receiving several electronic cards from one person, and the obligation to sell the citizen the quantities allocated to him according to his card, in addition to supplying the bakeries with quantities of rationing flour according to the production capacity of each bakery, in addition to increasing the allocations for a number of bakeries with flour after studying the needs of the ration area and the population.
Hazaa explained that the return of a number of bakeries, operating and production lines to work after their maintenance and restoration in the countryside of Damascus contributed to reducing overcrowding, in addition to tightening the issue of properly investing bread production requirements, not wasting, and confronting the phenomenon of selling fodder bread and trafficking in food flour and smuggling it to the black market at prices double its price. The subsidized and the real, indicating the emphasis placed on bakery supervisors by adhering to the weight of the bundle and the specified price and producing bread according to the best conditions and required specifications.
According to a statement published by the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, and SANA obtained a copy of it, the Syrian Foundation for Grains confirmed that the bakeries supplied sufficient quantities of flour, each according to the needs of its production capacity and with good specifications and quality.
