Floods: orange vigilance, the Marne and Oise scrutinized while waiting for the peak

In both small and large suburbs, the high level of several rivers reinforces the fear of future flooding in Ile-de-France. Hab

Placed since Friday in orange vigilance, the Marne is already overflowing in places,

in Seine-et-Marne

.

While the peak of the flood is expected in the coming days, the time that the rains of this Saturday in the neighboring department of Marne arrive in the homonymous river, we are preparing in some municipalities to deal with any eventuality.

“Unfortunately, we are starting to get used to it,” says Pierre Tebaldini, the chief of staff of the mayor of Lagny-sur-Marne.

In the city, water has completely covered a quay.

She approaches the less distant houses.

The Cosec near the Marcel-Rivière college was therefore opened to accommodate the possible first evacuees.

Two hundred beds can be deployed there.

“Other residents are already leaving with relatives,” adds Pierre Tebaldini.

In Trilbardou, we keep an eye on the river, as well as on the Vigicrues site.

Quietly for the moment, because here too, we live with the stream.

"The Marne is still far away," assures Corinne, a resident who lives opposite.

The quai de Marne is flooded, there is nothing exceptional.

Roads have also been closed, including the one between Trilbardou and Lesches, for 48 hours.

"

"It will go up again"

In Esbly, not far from Meaux, 30% of the city is located in a flood or humid zone.

The situation is therefore quite different.

With the help of the town hall, which provided concrete blocks, residents have already raised their furniture.

“We have a few sectors that are well affected, but not yet in an emergency evacuation situation,” explains David Charpentier, the elected official in charge of communications.

We only have overflows for the moment, but it will go up further.

"

In Seine-Saint-Denis,

the prefecture indicates that the situation is "particularly under vigilance" but wants to be reassuring: "The forecasts of Météo France are less alarmist than announced.

"

The Paris fire brigade (BSPP) which intervenes in the departments of the inner suburbs has not had any intervention related to the floods to do this Saturday.

"The officers make regular reconnaissance, to check if the level has increased, if such and such a route is still accessible, for example," explains the spokesperson for the BSPP.

According to him, the "only slightly sensitive point" at this time is in the Blandin district in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (Val-de-Marne).

In Essonne,

the Yvette union raised its alert this Saturday noon, "the storage capacities having been optimized thanks to lower than expected rainfall".

Further north-east of the department, on the border with Val-de-Marne, the Yvette union, however, remains "vigilant."

In the Val-de-Marne,

while waiting for a possible and significant rise in the waters of the Marne, nothing worrying was reported.

The level could rise on Sunday.

“We remain vigilant, mainly with regular patrols in the Blandin district in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, the most sensitive point,” specifies the spokesperson for the BSPP.

So far, that has not changed.

"

Concerns for this Sunday

“The meteorological forecasts (10 to 20 mm) are particularly unfavorable with cumulative rainfall expected to cause a significant increase in levels from Sunday February 7, in an already saturated hydrological and hydraulic context, warns Syage.

Overflows are foreseeable at the bottom of the gardens in the Fontaine Segrain district in Quincy-sous-Sénart and on the bank opposite Varennes-Jarcy.

"

In the Oise,

the river of the same name is also still at the orange alert level.

After reaching a maximum of 5.19 m at the Venette lock on Friday, the level seemed to have stabilized and even showed a slight decline.

It was 5.13 m this Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

The rain did not stop falling this Saturday afternoon, the Oise and Aisne rivers overflow in many places.

The flood became widespread in the Oise-Aisne basin.

The cycle paths and footpaths that border the rivers are, for many, submerged.

Six departmental roads have been cut off to traffic.

In many municipalities, on the Noyon - Verberie axis, cellars and several homes are affected, such as Longueil-Annel, Montmacq or on the Venette peninsula.

In the village of Appilly, in the Noyonnais, 22 houses are flooded.

The pumps which emptied the lateral canal at the Oise took water.

The weather forecast announces the return of heavy rains in the middle of next week.

The inhabitants are therefore called on to be careful.
