A night crew from the Nice police rescued a four-year-old boy after being called about a family dispute, the Alliance police nationale 06 union said on Friday (February 5th) in a Facebook post.

Going to the home of a young couple, the three police officers were intrigued by the presence of toys strewn on the floor of the apartment.
The two protagonists then confirmed to officials the presence of a little boy, "
in the bathroom
".
The police immediately wanted to make sure that the latter was well and asked the mother to present the child to them.
The young woman then explained to them that her son was naked and that she first had to go get him clothes to dress him.
So she locked herself in the bathroom with the young toddler.

After long minutes of waiting "
one of the police officers decided to open the door because the situation was going on for too long for his liking,
" the union explained on Facebook.
The mother then appeared, carrying the child in her arms and hiding her head against her, claiming that he had fallen asleep.
"
Uncomfortable, one of the three policemen, very gently and delicately, asked the child to turn around
."
The police officer is immediately struck by what he sees: “
the child shows signs of blows on his swollen little cheek.
His ear has doubled in size
, ”according to the union.
And the parents justify the injuries of the four-year-old boy by the fact that he did not
"want to go to bed".

Under the influence of alcohol and in an irregular situation, the stepfather was
"arrested on the spot and placed in police custody".
The child has for its part been hospitalized

Judged in immediate appearance, the stepfather was sentenced to one year of imprisonment with a ban from French territory for 5 years.
"The mother not having known how to protect her child, measures were taken"
, underlined the union, without specifying the nature of the said measures.
