Yang Runxiong said at a press conference yesterday (4th) that if faculty members are regularly tested for viruses every two weeks, the Education Bureau will consider allowing these schools to resume half-day face-to-face classes earlier.

This measure immediately aroused dissatisfaction in the education sector. The Hong Kong Association of Educational Professionals (The Association of Education) received a total of more than 10,000 principals and teachers within 18 hours of questioning, indicating that the Education Bureau’s decision was completely unfounded, even so , The Education Bureau has no plans to withdraw the relevant arrangements, and the school still needs to submit a reply letter on the new measures to indicate whether to participate.

The letter did not mention the detection method

The Education Bureau sent a letter to all schools in Hong Kong yesterday (5th). The letter did not mention the arrangements for special testing for teachers. It only stated that school staff must retain the negative test results and present relevant certificates to the school, such as SMS Or test report for school records.

The letter also attached links to the information websites of 19 community testing centers, 47 general outpatient clinics, 121 post offices and 20 major MTR stations that distribute test sample collection kits free of charge. It is believed that faculty and staff need to arrange testing by themselves before reporting to the school. After confirming that all faculty members have completed the test and are all negative, the school needs to send a letter to the local school development team/kindergarten and child care center joint office to implement the full resumption of face-to-face classes.
