The Ecuadorians residing in the so-called tri-state area of New York represent the largest diaspora of the nationals of that country residing abroad.
Their presence is notable in areas such as Queens County, where many reside, work, own businesses and share as a community.
Yilber Vega was in the area and spoke with some of them about their experiences as immigrants and their expectations for the general elections in Ecuador, their country of origin.
