Yang Jiechi, Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken at an appointment on Saturday (6th).
According to CCTV News, Yang Jiechi stated that the Taiwan issue is the most important and sensitive core issue in Sino-US relations, and it has a bearing on China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The US should strictly abide by the one-China principle and the three Sino-US joint communiqués.
Hong Kong-related, Xinjiang-related, and Tibet-related matters are China's internal affairs, and no external forces are allowed to interfere.
Yang Jiechi said that the current Sino-US relationship is at a critical moment.
The Chinese government's US policy has always maintained a high degree of stability and continuity.
China urges the U.S. to correct its mistakes over a period of time, and work with China to focus on cooperation, manage differences, and promote the healthy and stable development of China-U.S. relations.
Yang Jiechi also emphasized that China and the United States should respect each other's core interests and their respective political systems and development paths. China will unswervingly follow the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. No one can stop the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
