Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that Washington's return to the nuclear agreement does not need Iranian-American negotiations, stressing that no one is against America's return to the nuclear agreement, but its return will not be automatic.
Zarif said in a statement to Hamshahri newspaper that US President Joe Biden “received from former President Donald Trump a wreckage and America is facing a crisis in legitimacy and national unity. Trump also led a rebellion against the symbol of American democracy, that is, the US Congress. More damage and its foreign policy more blows .. Biden’s procrastination will mean that he does not want to get rid of Trump’s legacy.
Regarding the negotiations between Tehran and Washington, Zarif said, "Entering into negotiations with America will not be a correct step ... Washington's return to the nuclear agreement does not need Iranian-American negotiations."
Zarif indicated that continuing the economic war on Iran will distort the image of the new US administration and make it not far from the policy of the previous administration, pointing out that the nuclear agreement succeeded in ending the world’s security consensus against Iran, ending Security Council sanctions, and achieving international recognition of Iran's nuclear rights.
