Diana Raz, who was shot to death by her husband at their home in the town of Na'ala in Binyamin, will be laid to rest tonight (Sunday) in the Rehovot cemetery.

Diana's family requested that the funeral be held in a small family presence.

Raz, 35, was allegedly murdered by her husband Amir, who served as a patrol officer at the Modiin police station.

The Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion yesterday extended Raz's detention for another nine days, while the DIP is examining whether the 33-year-old suspect attacked his wife before shooting her. The couple's four children were handed over to the suspect's father in Kfar Saba. Held in his absence, as he was staying with a verified corona patient. He would later be sent for a psychiatric examination.

The couple's neighbors said the incident occurred while their children were at home. One neighbor said "they heard nothing" and after the incident Raz left the house with the children waiting for his mother to take Them. "He said to me 'hello' and 'how are you', as if nothing had happened."

However, a source close to the details of the murder investigation said that between the two "an argument broke out about the relationship, and suddenly he pulled out a gun and shot her, he claims he did not plan it in advance".

According to the same source, the husband "cooperated in the investigation and expressed sorrow and remorse for his actions."

Raz, a marriage counselor by profession, was active in community life in the quiet community of Binyamin, and together with her partner, they were well known.

Neighbors claim they knew of problems in the relationship between the two, but did not anticipate that the case would end that way.

"The biggest thing about this story is that there was no writing on the wall or a tapecast, and none of the stories we hear lately. It was not a house of violence or a violent relationship, and in a second of insanity an entire family is plucked," described a neighbor and close friend of Diana's. Merav Harel.

Last night, the neighbors in the village held a memorial event for Diana near the family home, where they lit candles in her memory.

Diana spokeswoman and friend Ronit Eini said during the candle lighting event that "this class is difficult for all of us, Diana touched each and every one of us, in a challenging year of closures we had a torch of great light, always with a smile and humor."

Eini added that "we are in pain here, and we are asking ourselves what tools would you give us to take care of. We will strengthen and embrace the family for you. Diana has symbolized a great light."

Meirav, another friend, said during the ceremony that "my friend was murdered by her husband. I never believed I would say this sentence. We have experienced joys together for the past few years and in one second everything was cut short, I can not find the words to say goodbye to you."
