Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous, during his meeting with the Federation of Chambers of Tourism, affirmed the continuation of government support provided to the tourism sector to help it overcome the damage caused to it by terrorism, in line with government efforts aimed at advancing all economic and productive sectors in accordance with development priorities and available resources.
Eng. Arnous stressed the importance of partnership between the Federation of Chambers of Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism in setting plans to develop the tourism sector, optimally investing the natural resources that Syria possesses, and creating an appropriate environment to attract investments and stimulate domestic tourism, pointing to the importance of expanding the Union's investments and enhancing communication with expatriate investors and owners of troubled tourist establishments and coordination. With the concerned authorities to provide what is necessary to restart it.
The Prime Minister called on the federation to present initiatives to stimulate popular tourism among the governorates because of its social dimension and an important role in introducing tourism destinations in the governorates, and the tourism chambers to set up interim plans for the development of the tourism sector in the governorates.
The proposals focused on expediting the issuance of the investment law, paying attention to training and rehabilitation, compensating for the lack of employment, participating in setting up the investment map, providing incentives to attract investors, rehabilitating the damaged facilities in areas liberated from terrorism, supporting traditional crafts, providing places to open specialized markets, organizing the work of tourism offices, facilitating the movement of tourist groups, and activating The tourist registry and expanding the category of establishments affiliated with the tourist chambers.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Tourism, Engineer Muhammad Rami Radwan Martini, and Secretary General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Qais Khader.
