The Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, met this morning with Kiwan Kashfi, head of the Iranian side, at the joint Syrian-Iranian Chamber of Commerce and his accompanying delegation, where they discussed developing economic cooperation relations and increasing trade exchange between the two countries.

The two sides stressed the importance of opening new horizons for cooperation to confront the illegal economic blockade imposed on Syria and Iran and the role of the private sector in enhancing economic cooperation, given its capabilities, expertise and flexibility in work.

Eng. Arnous stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between economic and commercial activities in the two countries in the fields of equipping factories, establishing joint projects and bartering goods to meet the needs of the two countries' markets.

For their part, the head and members of the Iranian delegation expressed the desire of many Iranian companies to work in the Syrian market and raise the level of economic and trade relations and exchange visits of trade delegations between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Qais Khidr, the head of the Syrian side in the joint Syrian-Iranian Chamber of Commerce, the chamber’s secretary, and the Iranian ambassador to Damascus Jawad Turkabadi.

In addition, the participants in the joint meeting of the Board of Directors of the Joint Syrian-Iranian Chamber of Commerce in Damascus discussed the reality of economic and commercial relations and the administrative, procedural and legal issues and difficulties related to enhancing the flow of trade, services and investment between the two countries, stressing the necessity to make all possible efforts to enhance the Syrian-Iranian economic cooperation and upgrade it in the coming period to meet ambition The two countries and two peoples and supporting the role of the Chamber in order to contribute to the advancement of the Syrian economy.
