Nearly 9 o'clock this morning (7th), an 80-year-old woman was suspected of being knocked down by a truck and was later certified dead.
Police and ambulance personnel arrived at the scene after receiving the report. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Sources at the scene stated that a freezer truck believed to be carrying ice hits an elderly woman as it drove forward, and paper and debris were scattered on the ground.
The deceased was surnamed Huang 87. After police investigation, the 38-year-old Xiao Nan was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing the death of others.
According to the neighbourhood, Granny Huang lives nearby and sells papers in Shajiao Village every morning. Her children have prevented her mother from picking up waste but to no avail.
