The "Auto Wine" project was launched about a year ago by Yaeli Keinan and Eliran Peretz, a wine-loving couple who took advantage of the corona and their love of migration and spread the word of young and light wine throughout Israel through a specially invested trailer.
The two participated in a variety of events, including picnics in the vineyards, wine deliveries at almost every point in Israel and tours of wineries.
About a month ago, after a lot of investment, the couple bought an electric rickshaw that would be a kind of "little sister" to the wine bar, which would be a kind of portable wine mini-bar that would arrive and "make happy" in parks, workshops, events and wine evenings in courtyards.
Even before the two finished the branding and final design, they too fell victim to the scourge of theft in Tel Aviv, and the expensive rickshaw was stolen.
"We painted the car, built an invested branding for it and designed a construction to wear on it, but in less than a week we also became part of Tel Aviv's theft statistics," says Keinan.
"The rickshaw was tightly tied and locked in a private parking lot, but the thieves managed to break both locks and disappear with it in the dead of night."
The couple decided to do everything to buy another rickshaw, and now they are launching a crowdfunding project on the Dastart website, where they will try to get the funding to buy a new car that will spread the joy of life and love of wine throughout Israel.
"We did not believe we would get into a situation where we would raise money, but the theft and closures did their thing.
"We believe in a young and fun wine culture," the two say.
"The rickshaw is another tool designed to pass this culture on to more and more women and men who are looking for a way to connect to the world of wine. For the benefit of the fundraising project, we collected special and pampering gifts from our Israeli wine industry, who enlisted with lots of love and gave us their best produce.
"Among other things, boutique wineries donated rare bottles from the archive, others donated vouchers for tours and tastings at the leading wineries in Israel, wine books were also donated. It excites us to see people donate so that our venture continues "In the end, we will buy the rickshaw and return to travel around the country and continue to roll with joy, drunkenness and fun."
