Two Corona midwives in their 20s were hospitalized in critical condition at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera, the hospital updated today (Sunday).
The two were born by caesarean section, and the babies were hospitalized in preterm labor in good condition.
In addition to the two mothers, a young woman was hospitalized in advanced pregnancy.
The hospital said there was a clear trend of declining patient age in Corona, and an increase in severe morbidity at these ages.
One of the two mothers is 34 weeks young.
She was hospitalized in a very serious condition in the hospital's infectious diseases department and in light of the deterioration in her condition it was decided to give birth to her in a caesarean section.
The second mother arrived at the hospital in the 37th week of her pregnancy, and complained of difficulty breathing.
After being diagnosed as positive for the virus, it was decided to give birth to her in emergency surgery as well.
The third hospitalized is a young woman who is in an advanced pregnancy and her condition is moderate but stable.
A woman who was hospitalized in a critical condition was recently released from the hospital, and after long treatment and resuscitation efforts, her condition improved and she was released to her home.

More than 70 people are hospitalized in the corona wards of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, including the two mothers.
Currently 44 patients are defined as in critical condition and three in human condition.
Among those hospitalized is a 16-year-old girl whose condition is defined as moderate.

Dr. Miki Dodkevitz, director of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, said the morbidity trend among women giving birth is worrying. “We are witnessing an increase in the wave of serious morbidity among younger ages from the past.
Just a week ago we had a 36 year old guy who was being resuscitated and anesthetized, and luckily he stabilized and is now in a mild condition.
We also see a worrying trend among pregnant women, including those hospitalized at this stage, "he said." I urge people to continue to get vaccinated, and especially to continue to adhere to the procedures and rules of social distance. "
