District

- In their annual meeting, the district parliamentary group of the CSU positioned itself on important topics for 2021.

It was not only about the U6 extension, but also about the future of the Josef-Hofmiller-Gymnasium (JoHo) and the four-lane expansion of the Schlüter Bridge.

Something has also changed in terms of personnel.

Franz Braun moves up for Harald Reents

After the tragic death of parliamentary group member Harald Reents, the Kranzberg farmer and councilor Franz Braun (55) is moving up for Reents.

According to parliamentary group leader Manuel Mück, Johann Stegmair will take over one of the CSU seats in the district committee, whose place in the planning committee will in turn be taken by Braun.

The post of deputy parliamentary group leader is to be filled in the future by the Moosburg district councilor Georg Hadersdorfer instead of Reents.

Thematically, the U6 extension was right at the front of the list.

As reported, the CSU supports the efforts to advance the project despite the negative cost-benefit analysis.

However, as a possible alternative, as reported, one should not limit oneself to an express bus, but also do not immediately condemn unusual measures such as a cable car or a Bögl train.

Nuclear waste repository: "Do not artificially whip up the topic"

How things should go on with the JoHo in Freising, which (as the last secondary school) will be handed over from the city to the district, was also in the focus of the CSU: In view of the 50-year-old building fabric, an expert opinion should actually be obtained that Compare the renovation costs with the costs for a new building.

Of course, according to Mück, the city of Freising will decide in what form to hand over a structurally sound high school to the district.

Nevertheless, joint planning and deliberation is advisable.

The position of the district council CSU is clear on the topic of nuclear waste repositories, which had “popped up” in the past few days: “Keep calm and provide professional support,” emphasized Mück.

Before lapsing into actionism, it is necessary to wait for the development until the areas in question are reduced to ten percent of the federal territory in 2025.

Above all, it is important "not to artificially whip up the topic now in the federal election campaign".

The CSU would like to see a similar attitude in the discussion about the four-lane expansion of the Schlueter Bridge: The traffic load on the road is already there and private traffic will remain.

Now it is a matter of waiting for the reports and tests and then making a decision based on them.

“I don't believe in burying the project beforehand,” said Mück.

A topic on which the opinions of the CSU and the district administrator differ: As far as the revival of the district's own housing association that Helmut Petz is aiming for, Mück advocates "not arousing false expectations".

It is premature to talk about housing construction instead of a new administration building next to the staff building on the site of the former stone barracks.

For the CSU, the following still applies: "The municipalities have the reins of action."
