The last few months have been unconventional and not easy for all of us, and in light of the situation B144 is launching a new and special project designed to pardon small business owners across the country.

Each time we will bring you here the story of another business, so that you can get to know it and maybe even support it.

And this time we are talking to Omar Khyadra.

Business name:

Shawarma Omer

Year of establishment:

2019

Tell us about your business:

"Every region in the country loves its meat in a certain style, and in this business in Eilat I tried to make something new, which is nowhere else in Israel - I make veal shawarma, with pistachio and acorn and it works We are the shawarma that works best in the city, even though we sit between the hotels and not in the center, where people live. A large part of it comes thanks to the special spices, which I buy raw and we grind on the spot. We actually make our spice.

I have been in the profession for 20 years. I learned to be a Chef Saucer at Tadmor and I have a degree in cookery, I have worked almost all over the country and I know the different flavors very well. Preparing food is a great pleasure, because the feedback comes immediately. It's not like building a house and seeing the results only after two years. In ten minutes he will tell you this and when I use good meat and good seasoning, you see it and the customers cheer.

There are a variety of restaurants in our area, so if you are not good, you are wrong. The reviews in Eilat are very massive and the audience can easily escape, so be very accurate And successful.People for example always want innovations, so every day we put out different salads, approx

So that whoever arrives today and tomorrow will find something different and will not be bored.

Always fun to taste something new.

We currently have six employees in the business, and besides veal shawarma with pistachio and acorn, we also offer turkey shawarma, grilled, lamb kebab on a plate and lots of other things.

Chickens, for example, we do not serve on a skewer, but give them the respect and take out as a steak in a garlic marinade.

Another interesting thing is the option of entrecote steak in pita.

That way you don't have to pay NIS 200 per dish on a plate to enjoy a super quality entrecote, at a great price. "

How Does B144 Help Promote Your Business?

"I'm in favor of anything marketing that can contribute and help me. So I invest in advertising and media, like on our page on B144, because that's the name of the game today. We have exposure there and that's how I know myself better."

How else are you promoting yourself digitally?

"We have our own website and we also appear on the website of a local shipping company. In addition, we market ourselves on Facebook, Instagram and all social networks and get great feedback. Our score on Google is very high."

Pargan for another business:

"We have a branch of Hummus Eliyahu, which was set up by someone named Shir Avidan, a good friend of mine. She is very successful today and every weekend we sit together and talk about everything we went through. It's fun to share the success with her."

How has the corona affected your business?

"Impact of course, especially because we are open in the area of tourism in Eilat. Despite this, we continue to work hard and put in all the money we needed in 2020. I hope we will double the work when the closure opens, but scary to see Eilat right now. I already live here "17 years and even in the worst dreams, I did not imagine that this would be the case. It is sad. We hope for the best."

What tip do you have for other business owners?

"Persevere, persevere, do not give up. I for example renovated the place while we were closed for a month. In addition, until the third closure I did not make deliveries, because I did not think it was possible, but now we started and it works great. The deliveries are a big upgrade, so always We need to think about the next step, probably at a time like this. "

How do you envision your business in 5 years?

"I think we will have another branch in Eilat and I want to market our name, both as a chain and with the special taste we offer."
