The director of the American National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci considered that the fastest vaccination of the largest possible number of people against Corona is the best way to combat mutations of the virus and its new strains.
Reuters quoted Fauci as saying that "the best defense against the development of the Corona virus and the emergence of different strains is to vaccinate the largest possible number of people with the first dose of vaccines as soon as possible, while making sure that they receive the second dose of the vaccine in time."
Fauci pointed out that the study of the effectiveness of the two Pfizer vaccines, “Biontec and Moderna, on a single dose basis, in light of the limitations of the vaccine supply, will take months to complete, and therefore its conclusions are likely to be controversial, calling at the same time to give people the two doses of the vaccine.”
Since last December, health services have detected several new strains of the Coronavirus that are more transmissible and resistant to antibodies, including strains discovered in Britain, South Africa and Brazil.
