The investigators are reconstructing the contours of the femicide committed yesterday in Palermo.

According to investigators Salvatore Baglione, 37, killed his wife, Piera Napoli 32, during yet another dispute.

The woman was in the bathroom and would tell her husband that she no longer loved him and would decide to leave him.

The suspect claims that he was aware of his spouse's affair that had been going on for four months.

This is what Baglione told the prosecutor Federica Paiola and the captain of the company of the carabinieri of San Lorenzo, Simone Calabrò during the interrogation.

While the woman was sitting in the bathroom, her husband, the prosecution claims, took a 35-centimeter knife with a 20-inch blade and inflicted several stabs on her face, head and trunk.

As soon as he saw that his wife was no longer moving, he covered the body, hid the bloodstained knife in a mezzanine in the closet, changed and cleaned himself up and at this point it seems he woke up his children, who he said had not noticed nothing and accompanied them to their grandparents.

This detail is at the center of investigations by the carabinieri.

It is not known whether all the children, or one of them, were in the house or not.

Once he returned home, Baglione prepared a suitcase with some clothes inside and went to the Uditore barracks immediately telling the carabinieri that he had killed his wife and revealing to the military where the knife was.

The suitcase told the military to have it for when he went to jail.

The carabinieri arrived in the house with the prosecutor and the medical examiner found the scene described by Baglione in the bathroom.

On the floor was the covered body of the woman who showed evident traces of stab wounds.

The bloodstained knife was found in the closet.

Baglione was stopped last night and taken to the Pagliarelli prison.
