Regarding whether the DAB can advance to ruling power, Jasper Tsang pointed out that the so-called "ruling party" must have two conditions. The first is the right to realize its political platform.
He recalled that when he was the first President of the Legislative Council, a New Zealand consul general in Hong Kong directly asked him how local political parties would write their political platforms when they were running for elections, because they had no right to implement them. "If the DAB came to run for elections, you (the citizens) would support me. If we win the election, we will cut taxes and raise the minimum wage. Poor! People believe you?"
He smiled and replied to the consul at that time, "It is very easy to write a political platform. You only need to add "fight" in front, and you can only fight. If the government does it, it will "successfully fight". The next election will have a transcript, "Successful fight". ; If the government does not do it, it will write "continue to fight for", so the DAB proposes reforms, at best, it is only "for reforms."
