The Russian Foreign Ministry considered the decision of Germany, Sweden and Poland to expel Russian diplomats "unjustified and unfriendly," describing it as a continuation of the interference policies in Russia's internal affairs.
"The decisions announced by Poland, Germany and Sweden represent a continuation of the series of measures and operations carried out by the West towards our country, which we classify as interference in our internal affairs," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement to Russia 1 today.
Zakharova stressed that Russia expelled diplomats from these three countries after "spotting them red-handed," referring to their participation in the unauthorized demonstrations against the arrest of politician Alexei Navalny.
And Germany, Sweden and Poland announced earlier today the expulsion of 3 Russian diplomats as part of a policy of reciprocating a decision taken by Moscow on the fifth of February, against the background of the protests that took place on the twenty-third of last January.
