The US spacecraft (March 2020) of NASA is preparing to land on Mars on the 18th of this month, with the aim of searching for signs of life on the planet's surface.
According to the British newspaper The Sun, the high-priority scientific goals for exploring Mars include searching for signs of life on the planet, as it will not only search for habitable conditions, but also look for signs of ancient microbial life while taking some useful geological samples.
Project scientist Ken Farley said, "The vehicle will go to the Jezero crater in the red planet to search for rocks that may indicate the existence of life someday. The best samples will be selected and placed in small tubes to be ready to return to the planet."
Farley said in a NASA blog that advanced scientific persistence tools will not only help in the search for fossil microbial life, but will also expand on the geology of Mars, its past, present and future.
