Ten people ended up in prison and 8 under house arrest as part of an investigation by the Milan DDA for mafia-type criminal association and criminal association aimed at the illicit trafficking of waste, tax fraud, self-laundering, usury and extortion.
The operation carried out by Gico of the Gdf, by the Finance and by the Lecco Mobile Squad took place in Lombardy, Liguria and Emilia Romagna and also led to the seizure of a load of radioactive waste.
The prosecutor has reconstructed the activity of a mafia association led by Cosimo Vallelonga in the Lecco area, a leading exponent of the Andrangheta who is already condemned.

With these words, according to the wiretapping, Cosimo Vallelonga, 72, boss of the 'Ndrangheta in Lombardy who ended up in prison again today in the maxi blitz of the Milanese Dda on a traffic of waste and other crimes, threatened in his furniture shop in the Lecco area two victims of usury, who had to repay a "loan".
It can be read in the order signed by the investigating judge Clemente.
As is clear from the documents, in October 2018 Vallelonga allegedly ordered one of the two victims "to leave the cell phone out of the room", after having also "asked him if he was wearing recording devices".
Another of the victims of the clan, who, as we read, had been acting in various sectors and with the 'classic' methods of the Calabrian mafia for years now "pervasive" in Lombardy, reported that in the summer of 2017 "it was conducted in a shed from Vallelonga "and from Vincenzo Marchio, another arrested and 'right hand' of the boss.
Vallelonga, according to the minutes, took a "pistol" with a silencer and pointed it "at the head, at the level of the mouth, reiterating that he demanded the return of the money from me".
The same boss in December 2017 also said that "he had the bag of irons ready and that he had no problem getting it out".
