Audi e-Tron GT, grand touring transcended

Even when it comes to electric vehicles, the Volkswagen group cannot give up what makes one of its strengths: organ sharing.

This is how the Audi e-Tron GT, the second model in its family of 100% electric vehicles, after the e-Tron crossover, is technically close to the Porsche Taycan.

Under the seductive appearance of a 4-door coupe moving at ground level, the Audi borrows its platform (air suspension; optional rear wheels), its two-speed transmission and its 93 kWh lithium-ion battery (86 kWh useful) to the Zuffenhausen sedan.

4.99 m long, 1.96 m wide and 1.40 m high, the new GT of the firm with rings evokes a very streamlined A7 Sportback (Cx record of 0.24).

As for the treatment of the cabin, close to that of the latest models, it will not confuse the regulars of the brand.

Two versions of the GT will be offered from next summer: the e-Tron Quattro and the RS e-Tron.

With four-wheel drive, these two models accommodate two synchronous electric machines with permanent magnets: 238 hp at the front and 435 or 456 hp with the RS at the rear.

It will make people talk: the power, respectively 476 and 598 hp, has nothing to envy that of the best GTs on the market.

It can combine with the overboost respectively at 530 and 646 hp.

As for the torque, it is 630 Nm for the Quattro version and 830 Nm for the RS model.

Acceleration promises to be lightning: 4.1 and 3.3 seconds to reach 100 km / h.

Getting intoxicated with this vigor exposes to see a range approved at 472 km, according to the WLTP standard.

Thanks to its compatible battery, like the Taycan, with 800 volts, Audi has given priority to rapid recharging times.

On a fast terminal, with a charging power of 270 kW, the GT will be able to recover 100 km of radius of action per 5 minutes.

The price is not yet fixed, but it should range from 99,800 to 140,000 €, depending on the version.
