Dr. Abdullah Abdel-Dayem is an educational intellectual stature that has enjoyed knowledge leadership and love of science. His bids included the fields of translation, research and investigation, and he highlighted Arabism in its various dimensions.

The newly released book titled (Abdullah Abdul-Dayem: The Man of Education and National Thought) by Dr. Ismail Marwa and Nazih Khoury provides excerpts from the intellectual seminar held by the Ministry of Culture on Dr. Abdel-Dayem in the Al-Assad National Library in February of last year.

The book’s documenters indicated that Abd al-Dayem, who passed away in 2008, was born in the city of Aleppo in 1924 and was during his years an ambassador for the Syrian human being and the Syrian intellectual in various parts of the world since he excelled in the high school diploma at the level of Syria and studied philosophy at Cairo University, where he obtained a university degree in 1946 and obtained State Doctor of Arts (Education) from the Sorbonne University in Paris in 1956, with first honors.

The book indicates that Abd al-Dayem, when he returned to Syria after obtaining his PhD, moved to the stage of work and creativity that culminated in the real establishment of national thought and issued seven books dealing with this thought. The stage of stability and the prospect of renewing national and educational thought is represented in the last stage in his life, during which he published several books based on an authentic Arab culture.

The book presents the views of a number of academics and researchers about Abd al-Dayem Ataa from Dr. Hussein Jumah, Muhammad Tarabay and Dr. Issa al-Shammas, who considers that the late was one of the pioneers of Arab educational renewal thought and called for modernizing education, focusing most of his interest in forming an Arab educational system capable of achieving comprehensive development in a way that contributes to Building a person possessing values ​​and capabilities that explode the potentials of creativity, so setting up a strategy for developing Arab education through literacy, compulsory education, and spending on education in what is called financing education.

It is noteworthy that the book is issued by the Syrian General Book Authority and consists of 128 large pages.
